If you’re considering hiring a cleaning service, you may wonder how often they should come. The answer to this question will depend on a few factors, including your lifestyle, budget, and the services you need to be done.

First, consider how often you need the cleaning service to come. If you have children or pets, more frequent visits might be necessary to keep up with the messes they make. On the other hand, if you’re a single person with a clean lifestyle, you may only need a cleaning service once every few weeks.

Another important factor to consider is your budget. You will need to figure out how much you can afford to pay for regular visits. If you’re on a tight budget, you may want to look for a service that offers discounts for signing up for regular visits. When looking at a cleaning budget, you will want to compare how much you already spend on cleaning products and equipment. Some cleaning products approved by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for combating COVID are available only to professional cleaning services, so this may also be a concern.

Finally, think about the services you need to be done. Do you want the cleaning service to do the laundry, clean the windows, and vacuum? Or do you just need someone to dust and mop? Once you know what needs to be done, you can decide how often you need the cleaning service to come. It is wise to make a list of essentials and then add extras such as windows and upholstery as needed and affordable.

In conclusion, the frequency of your cleaning service visits will depend on your lifestyle, budget, and the tasks that need to be done. If you’re willing to pay for more frequent visits, a cleaning service can come as often as you need. However, if you’re on a budget, you may want to consider having them come every other week or once a month. No matter what you decide, a cleaning service can help keep your home looking spic and span. Most cleaning services offer an estimate, often free, where you can discuss what you need and can afford and how a particular cleaning service can help.

For persons living in Ocala, Florida, and the surrounding area, including Gainseville, The Villages, and Orlando, there is an outstanding professional cleaning service that offers free estimates and has been successfully in business for over 20 years. Cleaning your home when someone has been sick is important, particularly if the illness was contagious. Germs have a way of staying around, especially on surfaces of furniture and decorative items such as pillows. Hopefully, the sick person was confined to a bedroom but often coming into the living room to watch TV or into the kitchen to eat takes place. So, if someone in your home has been sick, it is best to give the bedroom of the sick person and all common areas of the home a thorough cleaning. Ideally, it is nice to have a professional cleaning service do the cleaning as they can use industrial-strength cleaning products and their workers are trained in the latest cleaning practices.

However, often a, homemaker must do their own cleaning. So here are some tips to help get the job done quickly and thoroughly. A quick note before listing the tips: there is a difference between sanitizing and disinfecting, and cleaning products will reference what they will do. Sanitizing gets rid of only bacteria, while disinfecting gets rid of both bacteria and viruses. Be sure to check the labels of the cleaning products you will be using to make sure the products will disinfect.

  • Wear disposable gloves while cleaning
  • Before beginning to clean, gather all linens, towels, and washable blankets and quilts used by the sick person. Be especially sure to get towels from the bathrooms and kitchen. Wash these items in hot water with bleach if possible and dry them in a hot dryer or hang them outside in the sunshine.
  • Clean from the top down. In other words, clean counters, tops of furniture, and shelves first and then move down to items near the floor and lastly the floor. Use cleaning products designed to disinfect but are safe for the fabric or wood you will be cleaning. Check cleaning warnings on furniture. Use clean cloths and wring them out well. Also, rinse the cleaning cloths frequently and apply a fresh spray of disinfectant to the cloth.
  • Try to get into the corners of shelves, cabinets, and counters, especially in bathrooms.
  • If the person who was sick is a child, hopefully, you can wash and dry in a dryer any stuffed animals they have. Sometimes all you can do is wipe stuffed animals with a cloth sprayed with disinfectant.
  • Empty and disinfect all waste containers and clothes hampers.
  • Vacuum all floors, carpets, and rugs. When possible, clean all floors and their coverings. After cleaning, spray lightly with a disinfectant spray.
  • Before putting the linens back on the bed, vacuum the mattress and spray it lightly with disinfectant spray. Wipe down the head and footboard with a disinfectant solution.
  • Disinfect all light switches, including those on lamps, and all door knobs.
  • When you have finished cleaning and disinfecting, spray all rooms lightly with a disinfectant spray.

Yes, it is a big job to correctly clean and disinfect after someone has been sick, but it is important to do so to avoid the spreading of germs. Grout cleaning in your office bathroom is a task that needs to be done often. Grout that (usually) white filler between tiles seems to get dirty almost overnight. Especially in office bathrooms, where many people use the facility each day, there is little chance that the grout will stay clean. The usual tips for keeping grout clean such as removing shoes and wiping with a damp cloth, aren’t doable in an office bathroom. And, should the weather be stormy and the path to the office muddy, you will have dirty grout almost instantly. As grout is made of a porous material, it will absorb dirt and grime quickly. Hopefully, your office will have a professional cleaning service who will nightly go over the grout in the bathroom, but this is not always the case. So how can you clean the grout in your office without scrubbing?

There are several ways grout can be cleaned without scrubbing:

  • Use any one of the commercially available grout cleaning products. Instructions will be on the container, which is usually a spray bottle though there are some powders as well.
  • Many people prefer to use environmentally safe cleaning solutions made by themselves to clean grout without scrubbing. Here are some ideas: (this list is made for tiles that are not marble, travertine, or slate, as this porous stone damages easily when certain chemicals are used to try to clean them.)
    1. Use white vinegar directly on the grout. Let stand for 10 minutes and then rinse and air dry. A few drops of essential oil with eliminate the offensive smell.
    2. Make a mixture of ½ cup baking soda and ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide, stirring until the consistency is like paste. Add 1 teaspoon of mild liquid dish detergent. Stir well and apply to grout with an old toothbrush. Let this application stand for about 10 minutes. Wipe the mixture off the grout and rinse the grout. Let the grout air dry for several hours before walking on it.
    3. Combine 2 cups of water, ¼ cup lemon juice, ¼ cup vinegar, and ½ cup baking soda. Mix well and apply the solution to the grout. Let the cleaning agent stay on the grout for 15 minutes, then rinse with a towel and warm water. Sometimes a little elbow grease will be needed on stubborn stains by using a stiff brush dipped in baking soda. Let the grout dry for several hours.

After you have cleaned the grout, it is important to apply a sealer to ensure the grout stays clean longer. There are several grout sealers on the market, and you want to use one that best suits your tile type. To apply, follow the directions on the box or bottle.

Ideally, you will have professional office cleaners clean the grout in your office bathroom. If you live in Ocala, Florida, or surrounding areas, including Orlando, Gainesville, and The Villages, you will want to contact Cassie’s Meticulous Touch for exceptional office cleaning services.
